Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Keiser University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (ABSN) is a pre-licensure degree program for those wishing to complete a program of study in professional nursing. At the conclusion of the program, graduates will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam to become licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse. This program offers an accelerated format that allows students with previous college level work to complete the program of study in four semesters (after general education credits are evaluated and completed). The program emphasizes the Registered Nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team and a member of the discipline of nursing. Coursework in this program provides students with a framework of knowledge on the caring principles and emphasize critical thinking, leadership, management, evidenced-based practice, health promotion and illness prevention, and physical assessment. The curriculum accentuates cultural, political, economic, and social issues that influence patients, families, communities, and populations across all health care delivery settings.
